The collection ‘ceci n’est pas une femme’ is based on an androgynous and surrealistic approach towards the human body. It represents the continuous interaction between masculinity and femininity with an emphasis on silhouettes and the usage of materials. Through the reshaping of garments and referring to classical forms, surrealistic images are created. The androgynous vision behind the collection is translated into a visual language that both man and woman can identify with and wear.
I look at fashion as a means of communicating my vision. For me, fashion doesn’t end with a nicely made garment, but the whole atmosphere around it is just as important. The androgynous aspect of garments has always been a fascination. By combining both male and female elements, it is possible to create a new standard.
