Berke Taslidere, graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy, was selected by the Dutch jury to participate in Lichting 2023.

As a queer person disconnected from family and traditions, his research focuses on Turkish wedding traditions, embracing his identity while exploring their evolution. “ÜÇ” (meaning: Three) blurs gender roles, preserving cultural elements with modern twists. It pays homage to his heritage while fostering inclusivity within his community. His design process involves draping findings on his own body, expressing femininity and masculinity through clothing. The collection features closures symbolizing the triple twist and tie gesture, reclaiming their meaning from the past.
