The Dutch designer was one of the ten young fashion designers who showed their work from 26 April to 29 April in the surroundings of the Villa Noailles gardens in the South of France.
This year’s edition was chaired by Felipe Oliveira Baptiste, designer of his own label and for Lacoste. Next to Baptiste the jury of this year’s edition consisted of photographers Liesbeth Abbenens and Maurice Scheltens, Delphine Roche, editor-in-chief of Numéro magazine, Imran Amed, editor of The Business of Fashion; Barbara Coutinho, director of MUDE (the Museum of Design and Fashion); Mark Holgate, News Director of US Vogue and Paula Reed, Harvey Nichols’ fashion director.
The winner of the first prize at the Hyères Festival is the Finnish designer Satu Maaranen.
Out of 355 applications the jury selected ten fashion designers and protographers who presented their work on the festival. The other names on the short list were: Tomas Berzins and Victoria Feldman, Henning Jurke, Camille Kunz, Xénia Lucie Laffely, Marion de Raucourt, Damien Ravn, Shanshan Ruan and Xing Su. Yvonne Kwok was the only Dutch artist to participate in this year’s edition.
