I came across a picture of a very elegant lady wearing a suit from the ‘jazz age’. During my time at the academy, this time period proved a lasting source of inspiration for my work and aesthetics. My graduate collection is based on the imaginary dialogue between this picture and a well-known technique from the twenties; draping. My goal was to create an elegant womens collection with a masculine and cool twist. This masculinity is expressed in shapes – like the classic shirt -, fabrics – cottons and wools – and colors – derived from the familiar black and white combinations in mens suits from the twenties.
